I would therefore appreciate any advice of how to check for corrupt files or any issues caused by Malware etc, which is obviously safe and hopefully reasonably easy to do as I'm certainly no expert on these matters.Īny help in getting my trusty Mac back up to speed is very much appreciated. I am reluctant to Download any supposed Malware / Virus / Repair programs as I understand many of these are of very dubious origins themselves. I have run 'First Aid' on Disk Utility but this didn't indicate any issue or resolve the problem. I suspect it may well have become infected with Malware (or similar ) or maybe some of the files may have become corrupted. However since my son tried to stream some Sports Channel it has become extremely slow with most operations and I now spend half my time just watching the dreaded colour wheel spinning round and round on the screen. Although my Mac is somewhat dated (2008) it normally works without problems and is quite capable of running programs like Photoshop without any fuss and runs El Capitan 10.11.6.
